Compared to Google Universal Analytics, GA4 offers fewer standard ready-made reports. If you are not a web analytics specialist, setting up a custom report by yourself can be challenging.
That's why we asked the experts at Promodo to show us how to create custom reports from scratch and share templates with settings that you can use in your own work.
To create a new report in Google Analytics 4, you need to go to the "Overview" tab in the left menu. Here you will find basic report templates, as well as an option to create your own report using the "Custom Form." It contains various segments, parameters, and metrics that you can combine in a custom report.
Next, we will show 9 reports useful for eCommerce. To create the same report in your own GA4, you only need to copy the settings from our templates.

A report by device category, source/channel, and country.
In the standard "Pages and Screens" report in GA4, the bounce rate is not available. However, you can create a custom report to include bounce rate and exit pages.
The screenshot shows the details for the "Payment Type" parameter chosen by the user during the purchase. However, such a report can be configured using other parameters, such as devices.
